Hi, I'm Alyssa

I build, sell, and scale the foundations
behind great products.

I've spent the last decade bringing new technologies to market. I enjoy the work that sits between customers, product, and engineering, finding the first partners, shaping what gets built next, and helping new platforms grow from an idea into an ecosystem.

The rundown.

Blackbird — Strategic Partnerships Manager2026 — now

Growing the Partner Ecosystem

My role is to make it easier for partners to build on Blackbird and, in turn, grow the network. I work closely with our founder, product, and engineering teams to identify the APIs and infrastructure partners need, map hundreds of integration scenarios, and help prioritize the roadmap.

At the same time, I bring in design partners and use their feedback to shape the platform itself. Partner conversations have directly influenced new capabilities, including our Events API, and have helped bring the first partner-powered payments to life.

Blackbird — GTM2024 — 26

Closed the enterprise clients driving our top payment volume

As one of the first GTM hires, I helped build the team from scratch. I mentored BDRs as the team grew, sold into some of our first enterprise accounts, generated multi-million-dollar payment volume, finished as the top account executive, and helped write a playbook for launching new cities.

Crossmint2023 — 24

Getting Maison Margiela to adopt developer APIs

Wallet, identity, and payments infrastructure for developers, sold to enterprises on four continents. I guided global brands, including Maison Margiela and Etihad Airways, from technical discovery through API integration to consumer launch, translating between what enterprises wanted and what the APIs could do.

Coinbase2021 — 22

Fortune 500s, startups, and a lot of onboarding paperwork

I was the first sales hire focused on Coinbase's corporate and startup business. Beyond managing relationships across Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and high-growth startups, I partnered with sales, compliance, and product to redesign institutional onboarding so customers could get up and running much faster.

Block (Square)2016 — 21

Where I learned to sell

I was lucky to join Square during one of the most exciting chapters in the company's growth. Based in St. Louis, I earned President's Club, received the "Rock" award for exceeding quota six consecutive quarters, and mentored new BDRs as the team grew. After two promotions, I moved to New York to help build out the Strategic Sales organization.

Those five years shaped how I think about growth and building products, and gave me some of my closest friends. Looking back, they were some of the most formative and genuinely fun years of my life.

Stuff I wanted to exist.

Weekend projects, hackathon builds, and things I made for the fun of it or because they solved a problem I had.

Splitsville 98

A bill splitter dressed up as Windows 98. It boots with a fake BIOS screen, does real math on who owes whom, and roasts everyone's spending on the way out. Other apps like this started charging. Splitting a bill should be free, so I built one.

The NYC restaurant almanac

Where to eat, what's good, and the city's dining lore in one place. Still early and growing, but it's live and you can poke around.

DogTown

An app for finding your dog some friends. It matches pups based on how they actually play, shows you playmates in the neighborhood with live walk tracking, and has chat for planning meetups. Free, no ads, just good dogs.

three.numbers

A joke matchmaker. Give it three numbers from your Instagram (posts, followers, following) and it pairs you up with someone. There is no science here. Nothing leaves the page either, we're not that organized.

What I believe

Technology should give us our time back.

I've had a front row seat to one of the biggest shifts in how we use the internet. I've seen us go from taking one of the first card payments on a phone to building systems where software can book a table, move money, and handle everyday tasks on our behalf. At the same time, we've gone from needing months to bring an idea to life to being able to build and test something meaningful in a matter of hours.

That future is exciting, but only if we build it thoughtfully. The systems underneath need to earn people's trust. Identity should be secure. Payments should be seamless. People should always know who is acting for them and why. Progress means very little if we lose the human element along the way.

I'm drawn to the moments where technology changes how people live, work, and connect. The best innovations aren't the ones that demand more of our attention. They're the ones that quietly give some of it back.

About

How I got here.

I'm Alyssa. I grew up in a small town outside St. Louis, Missouri, and now live in New York City with my partner and our dog. I've been here almost eight years and still spend a lot of my weekends wandering neighborhoods with no real plan, trying restaurants I've had bookmarked for months, browsing independent bookstores (most recently Moderation by Elaine Castillo), or escaping the city on a road trip upstate. I love cooking, making pottery, listening to music, and spending as much time as I can with friends offline. I'm endlessly curious about how people, places, and cultures shape the way we experience the world.

I've always been drawn to the messy early days of building something new, when there's no playbook and half the job is figuring out what should exist in the first place. I started in payments at Block (Square), moved into institutional crypto at Coinbase, then developer infrastructure at Crossmint, and now Blackbird, where I helped build the foundations of our external developer platform. Most of my work sits somewhere between customers, product, and engineering, translating fuzzy problems into things people actually want to use.

More than anything, I like ambitious ideas, low-ego teams, and people who get excited about solving hard problems together. I'm happiest when I'm learning something new, building something from scratch, or working with people who care deeply about what they're making.

The most relaxing song in the world, while you're here? The most relaxing song?

Apparently this is the most relaxing song ever made?

A 2011 study claimed Weightless by Marconi Union reduced anxiety by 65%. It was funded by a spa company, which is either reassuring or the opposite.

The Reddit thread is somehow even better. One person fell asleep with their laptop balanced on their chest. Another got increasingly stressed waiting for the song to relax them. An EEG technician weighed in to explain why the science didn't really hold up, and absolutely nobody cared.

Worth listening to the song. Equally worth reading the comments.
